Keeping law enforcement uniforms clean is part of looking professional. Here are a few tips to remove law enforcement uniform stains.

Grass Stains

The process for removing grass stains is easiest when cleaning your law enforcement uniform as soon as possible.

  • Soak your uniform in warm water.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of dish soap and 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and then pour it onto the grass stain.
  • Let it soak for 10 to 15 minuets and then rinse again in warm water to remove the mixture.
  • Immediate wash uniform according to washing instructions.
Vomit Stains

With vomit stains it’s best if you can remove the stain as soon as possible. Remove as much of the vomit that you can and then place your uniform under cold water to rinse. it is important that you use cold water because hot water will make the stain set in the fabric. If your stain is still noticeable, try using the following mixture to be applied directly to the stain.

  • 1 Quart of warm water.
  • ½ Teaspoon of liquid detergent.
  • 1 Tablespoon of ammonia.

After using the mixture, rinse well under warm water and them wash in warm water with liquid detergent.

Bood Stains

Whether you know it or not blood stains are known to be one of the easiest of uniform stains to remove. The key is to catch it before it sets in. Waiting longer than 24-hours to treat the stain may make it impossible to remove.

Rinse the blood stain from your uniform under cold water. Just like removing a vomit stain, you don’t want to use hot water since this can cause the blood to set in the fabric. After using a cloth to blot the blood stain, wash your uniform immediately.

If you are looking for a different method or removing the stain is stubborn, try pouring white vinegar on the stain. Let the white vinegar soak on the stain for at least 10 minutes and then wash immediately according to the washing instructions in the uniform. You can also try soaking the stain in Coca-Cola overnight and then washing immediately.

Grease Stains

Traditionally the best way to clean uniform grease stains is to apply dish soap directly to the stain. Rub the dish soap into the stain, let it sit for 10 minutes and then wash according to washing instructions.

Dust & Dirt Stains

For stubborn dirt stains apply the stain with rubbing alcohol. Then wash the uniform under water and then place it in the washer. For dust, try brushing it off and placing the uniform in the washer.
